Jacket Racket: Jacket Racket is beginning on Monday. Your child can bring any gently used winter clothing (ie. coats, gloves, hats, etc.) to be donated to children across the city.
Our Learning:
We had a short, but exciting week this week! We did an amazing job showing our listening jobs during our Remembrance Day assembly.
Literacy:
- We continued to focus on writing a clear sentence. This week, we wrote a sentence about snacks and practiced using possessive s'. (E.g. Kate wanted Tom's grapes.)
- We read a variety of books about Remembrance Day and wrote about what we will remember to honour this day.
- We have been reading "The Wild Robot" by Peter Brown as our read aloud. Ask your child what has happened in the book so far.
Math:
- In math, we collected information by asking learners in our class if they would rather live in an amusement park or a zoo. We used this information to create a bar graph.
- We played a game to practice counting tally marks.
- The grade 1s and 2s continued to practice skip counting this week.
Inquiry:
- In science, we read “The Three Little Pigs” and talked about the properties of straw, brick, and sticks.
- We read a story called “Ada’s Violin” and talked about the materials in the story and what they are made of. We made a visual journal page to show our learning.
Thanks for reading!
